PRIVACY, IN PLAIN LANGUAGE
Your files stay with you.
Local processing is a design choice. Here’s what that means for the app, this website, and email support.

The Renamer app
Moon Meld Renamer processes files and photo metadata on your Mac. It has no accounts, advertising, analytics, or file uploads. It accesses only the files and folders you select and authorize.
Preferences, naming presets, history, and recovery records are stored locally. History and recovery records can include file paths, identities, content hashes, and folder authorization bookmarks. Exported history includes paths and hashes; review it before sharing.
History is retained for 30 days by default, with 7 days, 90 days, or no history retention available in settings. Unfinished recovery records do not expire automatically. Unexecuted batches and ordinary interface undo are not retained across launches.
This website
The website does not use advertising, visitor analytics, email subscriptions, or account registration. It stores your appearance and language preferences locally in your browser when you choose them. On the root homepage, it uses your saved language preference or browser language to choose a language version. You can switch languages at any time. It does not upload your files.
The production website at www.moonmeld.com, including demo videos and captions, is hosted on an Alibaba Cloud ECS server in mainland China and delivered through Alibaba Cloud CDN in mainland China and overseas. These providers process technical request data, including IP addresses, requested paths, browser information, timestamps and response status, to deliver content and maintain security. Origin access logs omit query parameters and are rotated and retained for 180 days with restricted access. CDN log retention follows the provider’s configured service policy. The Cloudflare Pages preview remains hosted separately; local previews run on the development machine. This is separate from the app’s local file processing.
Email support
When you email support@moonmeld.com, I receive your email address and whatever information or attachments you choose to send. I use that information to answer your request; I do not add you to a marketing list.
Avoid sending private files or unnecessary sensitive information. I use Alibaba Mail to send, receive, and store support emails. Your email provider also processes messages to deliver them. If you want to request deletion of a support conversation, contact the same address; any limitations will be explained in my reply.
